People need the basics-food, clothing, and shelter, for example-but they also need justice. Injustice is unfair or biased treatment, often based on the identity or origin of the people being discriminated against. Injustice can come out of the way people treat each other. But sometimes a countryâs laws promote inequality. A government may even support genocide, which is the deliberate destruction of a group of people.
To take a stand against injustice, teens can get involved in activism. They can challenge peopleâs biased behaviors. They can support better laws by lobbying, which is working to influence politicians on a specific issue.
